Together, these wages and benefits help provide greater stability today while giving members a foundation for the future.

Retirement Benefits

Build for the Future While You Work

Planning for retirement shouldn’t start at the end of your career. IBEW Local 540 members have access to multiple retirement benefits designed to help them build long-term financial security throughout their working years.

Depending on classification and eligibility, retirement benefits may include:

National Electrical Benefit Fund (NEBF)

An additional pension benefit available to eligible IBEW electrical workers based on qualifying years of covered employment.

IBEW Pension Benefit Fund

Eligible “A” members may also qualify for an additional pension through the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers.

Wages & Compensation

Know What Your Work Is Worth

Union membership helps take the guesswork out of compensation. Collectively bargained agreements establish wage rates and benefit contributions for covered classifications, giving members clear standards for their wages and benefits.

But your total compensation extends beyond the amount on your paycheck.

Depending on your classification, your wage package can include:

  • Competitive hourly wages
  • Employer-funded pension contributions
  • Employer-funded annuity contributions
  • Employer-funded healthcare contributions
  • HRA contributions
  • Vacation pay contributions
When evaluating a job opportunity, look beyond the hourly rate. The wages and benefits you earn throughout your career can make a significant difference over time.
